The KONGIA KG-FMC-1G-SFP converter connects copper Ethernet networks to optical fiber through an RJ45 10/100/1000 Mbps port and an SFP slot of 1.25 Gb/s. The transceiver is selected separately to match fiber type, wavelength, connector and reach to each installation. Supports single-mode, multimode or single-fiber single-mode links with a compatible BiDi SFP.
The Ethernet port automatically negotiates speed, full/half duplex and MDI/MDI-X. The device includes QoS, broadcast storm suppression, IEEE 802.3x flow control and back pressure. Store-and-forward operation, the 2K MAC table, 1 Mbit buffer and jumbo frames up to 9 Kbytes manage traffic with latency ≤ 20 μs. Includes port protection up to 4 kV and optical link isolation.
Its black metal housing with external power supply measures 94 × 70 × 26 mm and weighs 0.15 kg. Includes a 5 V / 1 A adapter with US plug and 100–240 V AC input. Consumes 0.75–3 W and operates between −10 °C and +55 °C. Copper distance is up to 100 m; optical reach depends on the SFP and link budget.
Recommended Applications

Connection of IP cameras, computers, wireless access points or VoIP phones as remote Ethernet devices.
Adaptation to single-mode, multimode or BiDi fiber by selecting a compatible SFP.
Interconnection with another converter or compatible optical switch; the second device and optical modules are purchased separately.
An additional switch is required to connect several Ethernet devices simultaneously: the converter has a single RJ45 port.
Key Benefits

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to help you select and request this product.
Is the SFP module included?
No. The SFP module is selected and sold separately according to fiber type, connector, wavelength and distance.
What reach does it support?
Up to 100 m on copper and 550 m to 100 km over fiber, depending on the selected SFP, fiber type and optical budget.
Does it support single-mode or multimode fiber?
Yes, with the compatible module. It also supports single-fiber single-mode using an appropriate BiDi SFP.
What power supply is included?
A 5 V DC / 1 A adapter with US plug and 100–240 V AC input, 50/60 Hz. European or Chinese plugs are offered as options.
What are its size and weight?
This externally powered version measures 94 × 70 × 26 mm and the device weighs 0.15 kg.
What traffic functions does it support?
QoS, broadcast storm suppression, IEEE 802.3x flow control and back pressure, 9 Kbyte jumbo frames, 2K MAC table and 1 Mbit buffer.
What protection and latency does it offer?
Port surge protection up to 4 kV and network latency ≤ 20 μs.
Can several devices be connected to the RJ45 port?
It has a single RJ45 port. Use an additional switch for multiple devices.
Are SC, FC and ST integrated ports on this SKU?
This device has an SFP slot. The optical connector is determined by the installed transceiver, purchased separately.
What is the KONGIA warranty?
KONGIA provides a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
